Juice Therapy
My journey began with reading the book The Gerson Therapy. As the solutions presented in it seemed sensible and logical to me, I purchased an Omega juicer and began applying Gerson Therapy on my own. I followed Dr. Gerson’s recommendations diligently and drank a glass (250 ml) of carrot–apple or green juice every hour throughout the day—at least 13 glasses daily.
I immediately began to feel better. The results of tests measuring liver enzyme levels in my body improved significantly. They dropped from a pathologically high level of 2,400 units to a normal level of 20 units. When I returned for follow-up tests after two months, my doctor stated that I was no longer ill and that my blood test results showed no abnormalities.
For the next several years, however, I occasionally felt as though I were coming down with the flu. Whenever my condition worsened, I would return for about a week to drinking the juices recommended in Gerson Therapy.
Sometimes, after just a few days of drinking the juices, all symptoms disappeared. Drinking 13 glasses of juice per day was enough for my body—especially my liver—to feel better, even after just one day. I learned that if a person wants to overcome any virus—whether type A, B, C, D, or E—they must consume freshly prepared juices made from organic fruits and vegetables.
Preparing juices and meals on my own in accordance with the principles of Gerson Therapy allowed me to regain my health. I am happy and enjoy excellent health. The symptoms of hepatitis no longer trouble me. And if they do appear, I now know that I can quickly eliminate them by drinking freshly prepared juices from organic fruits and vegetables.
Warm regards,
Natalia
A Few Tips from Dr. Gerson on Juice Preparation
Dr. Max Gerson recommended preparing juices from fruits and vegetables using two machines: a grinder and a press. He emphasized that all machine parts that come into contact with the produce should be made of stainless steel. Today, supporters of his dietary program recommend devices that combine both of these functions into one.
The most popular juicer among patients following Gerson Therapy is the Norwalk juicer. This machine was invented in 1936 by Dr. Norman Walker. Slow-speed juicers by OMEGA and Kuvings are also highly regarded.
In juice therapy, Dr. Gerson emphasized that patients must drink freshly prepared juices made from organic fruits and vegetables. He advised against preparing large quantities of juice in the morning for the entire day. In his book, he also discouraged drinking water, as the digestion of juices and the special vegetable Hippocrates Soup requires the full capacity of the stomach.
The ingredients of the soup are easily absorbed through the digestive tract lining. However, when the stomach is filled with water, it dilutes gastric acids and weakens the action of digestive enzymes.
The Power of Fresh Juices
The combined effect of enzymes contained in fresh, organic juices, a therapeutic diet, several carefully selected supplements, and coffee enemas makes it possible to regain good health naturally and safely—and to enjoy it for a long time.
Preparing and drinking plant-based juices is simply the most delicious way to take care of your health.
